The central government requests accelerated improvement in infrastructure network for general aviation, and increased speed in breakthroughs in aviation and aerospace technologies, so that aviation and aerospace equipment industries may grow stronger. The request has brought important opportunities for the development of the aviation industry. In recent years, we have made active efforts to cultivate the aviation industry that encompasses transportation, manufacturing, logistics, and services. Yancheng Nanyang Airport now has 22 domestic and foreign lines, connecting Seoul of South Korea, Osaka and Shizuoka of Japan, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. The airport is expected to receive nearly a million passengers this year. The sustained renovation and expansion of the airport is creating more space for the development of aviation logistics. Meanwhile, utility aircraft manufacturing, special equipment for Tianyi Airport, Yuanda wires, and other projects have been completed and put into operation. The projects of aerospace structural components of AVIC Heavy Machinery and Alps precision aviation knives have accelerated their progress. The construction of Jianhu Jiulongkou General-purpose Airport has begun. Approval is granted to Sheyang General-purpose Airport and the first aviation industry development research institution of Jiangsu Province. Jianhu Aviation and Aerospace Industrial Park is entitled as advanced manufacturing base for small aircrafts of Jiangsu Province. The achievements made serve Yancheng City as a solid foundation on which we may quicken our step in developing the whole industry chain encompassing aviation equipment manufacturing, aircraft safe operation, aviation education and training, and aviation business services, and in constructing the national aviation industrial base and civil aviation high-tech industrial base.
