In face of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, Yancheng has been racing against time to combat it with prevention and control work in order and in effect. As of now, 24 out of 27 confirmed cases have been cured and discharged from hospital. And another 6 out of 8 patients without any symptom have also been released from hospital.

Recently, we have taken notice of the latest development of the epidemic around the globe, in which situation in South Korea has been worsening. And it is our common responsibility to join hands to tackle the problem.

Yancheng is only separated from South Korea with one strip of water with frequent social and economic exchanges. Korean-capital corporations led by Hyundai KIA have been investing here in our city, making great contributions to the local economic and social development. Moreover, since the outbreak of COVID-19, such Korean cites as Inchon and Namwon have been sending letters of sympathy; Korean companies including Hyundai KIA and SKI have donated nearly 0.4 million of medical masks and over 10,000 pieces of protective items of all types, greatly supporting and assisting our rescue work.

Local Koreans who work and study here are all our “new citizens”, and we should treat them equally with our own nationals in the specific period; those who have settled here should stay at home, observe their own physiques, and conscientiously accept related services and regulations provided by community, DCC, medical staff and local police; Korean visitors who are currently here for business or travel reasons will be accommodated in government designated hotels; those who have a fever will be sent to designated hospitals to receive treatment and medical observation; and those who are confirmed with COVID-19 will be treated here with same standard as the local patients.

Recently, we have taken necessary measures, following related national laws and regulations on entry and exit quarantine and inspection, including health check, personal information registration and collective treatment for patients with fever for people who come to Yancheng from Yancheng Nanyang Airport, making sure our epidemic prevention and control work effective implemented.
