Since the beginning of this year, Yancheng has earnestly implemented the national marine power strategy, actively responded to the construction of the provincial "1+3" key functional zones, and solidly promoted the "Four Threes" work layout. With ports as pivots, opening-up as links, and innovation as driving forces, Yancheng has continuously expanded its "circle of friends" in the blue economy, realizing the dual-drive of opening-up and regional linkage.
Over the past five years, Yancheng Port has adhered to its positioning of "one port, four districts, one network, and two cores", continuously strengthened element guarantees, improved facility capabilities, and expanded its route network. In the first half of this year, the port area added 6 new routes, forming a shipping network with 63 international and domestic routes. The cumulative self-operated cargo throughput reached 88.5434 million tons, and the container volume reached 502,600 TEUs, increasing by 13.9% and 34.8% year-on-year respectively.
As an innovative measure promoted by the state-level for China-South Korea cooperation, the China-Korea (Yancheng) Industrial Park adheres to the mutual promotion of opening-up and innovation, the dual-drive of industry and city, and the complementarity of reform and services. At present, the park has gathered more than 380 foreign-funded enterprises, including over 280 South Korean-funded enterprises. The Yancheng Base Project of South Korea's SK Power Battery has a cumulative investment of 4.54 billion US dollars, making it one of the largest foreign-funded projects in Jiangsu Province in recent years.
