On the morning of February 11, the Municipal Conference on Rural Work and Strengthening Agriculture Through Science and Technology was held. Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, attended and delivered a speech. Yan Hanping, Deputy Party Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Yancheng, presided over the conference, and Wu Wei, Deputy Party Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, was present.

Zhou Bin fully affirmed the achievements made in the city’s work concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. He pointed out that the 15th Five-Year Plan period is crucial for laying a solid foundation and making all-out efforts to basically achieve socialist modernization. We should anchor the goal of building a high-level agricultural city, coordinate the development of technological agriculture, green agriculture, quality agriculture and brand agriculture, accelerate the construction of beautiful and livable villages, and strive to make a sound start for the work concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Yan Hanping made arrangements for strengthening agriculture through science and technology. He stressed that we must resolutely shoulder the responsibility as a major agricultural city, adhere to the coordinated development of land and sea, stay committed to the path of strengthening agriculture through science and technology, take the lead in making breakthroughs in key and core technologies, expand new types of agricultural business entities, promote integration and empowerment of artificial intelligence, and foster a first-class sci-tech innovation ecosystem. We should develop new quality productive forces in agriculture in light of local conditions, and continuously foster new strengths for the development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
