On the morning of March 14, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Yancheng Football Super League, themed “Yancheng Strength · Competition on the Green Pitch”, was held at the Dafeng Olympic Sports Center Stadium. Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee, attended the ceremony and kicked off the league. Yan Hanping, Mayor of Yancheng, presented plaques to the title sponsor and official partners of the league.

A total of 16 teams, including 11 teams from various districts and counties of the city and 5 teams from municipal state-owned enterprises, with 463 players in total, will compete in the league. Adopting a system of group single round-robin matches plus knockout matches, the 16 teams are divided into 4 groups, with the top two of each group advancing to the knockout stage. A total of 31 matches over 6 rounds will be played. As a mass sports event, the league also actively explores a new path of integrated development of sports, culture, tourism and commerce. Through various forms such as consumption markets and cultural tourism promotion, the event will enrich the experience, steadily advance brand cultivation, and realize the resonance between event effects and urban development.
