Since the start of this year, Yancheng has established and applied an innovative “4+N” supervision system for water conservancy project construction, with tighter focus on key links and milestones concerning construction schedule, quality and safety management, achieving a new leap in water conservancy project administration. By the end of June, completed investment reached 1.48 billion yuan, making up 51.7% of the annual investment target.

For the Phase II Huaihe River Sea-Running Channel Project, 1.27 billion yuan of investment has been completed this year, accounting for 54% of the provincial assigned target. Of the 85.3-kilometer river channel under Yancheng’s charge, 67.9 kilometers have started construction. Fifteen out of 19 dike-crossing structures are under construction, among which four have been finished and put into operation and four have passed underwater acceptance. Ongoing bridge works and partial north canal impact projects are advancing in an orderly manner.

In terms of small and medium river regulation, river dredging and underwater structural works of the Dongtang River-Yushengou Regulation Project in Jianhu County have been fully completed. The Liaojiagou Remediation Project, Shahuang River Regulation Project and Tanyang River (Xigang River-Liuzi Section) Regulation Project in Yancheng are progressing as scheduled.

For coastal water conservancy projects, the Kuatao Sluice Regulation Project in Sheyang County has passed water supply acceptance. Partial earth filling, casting of precast concrete and rock dumping at Niuwang have been finished for the seawall protection project at Sanwei Section in Xiangshui County and the seawall flood damage restoration project in Binhai County, both scheduled for completion before the end of the year.
