    Welcome to the website of Yancheng Municipal People’s government. We hope this website will offer a communicating channel to all our friends around the world. Yancheng was once a holy land. It was named for its high yield of sea salt. But Yancheng’s fame in the world is not for its long history of salt manufacturing, it originates from the re-establishment of the military headquarters of the New Forth Army, after the "New Forth Army "Accident which shocked China and foreign countries in Anti-Japanese War,hence that an unflagging Anti-Japanese flag was set up which made Yancheng into a center for politics, military and culture in Central China Anti-Japanese Base in Enemy Rear. Groups of people with lofty ideals broket hrough Japanese defences and gathered in Yancheng from Shanghai and Nanjing. ‘There’s a Yan’an in Shanxi, there’s a Yancheng in North Jiangsu’. Yancheng became a holy land in the hearts of thousands of people who were not willing to be slaves of foreign nations in occupied areas. Yancheng owns a pure land. The primordial wetland ecosystem with the title of ‘the kidney of the earth’ is under perfect conservation. Yancheng boasts 582 kilometers of coastline, in which there’re 6,800,000 acres of tidal land. It’s the biggest coastal-type wetland at the edge of Asian continent along the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. Also, it’s the international important wetland protection areas with rich biodiversity. We have built a national-grade rare -bird’s nature reserve and the first nature reserve for wild David’s Deers. Here is the home of Red-crowned Cranes and the homeland of David’s Deer. The two nature reserves both are members of the UN Human & Biosphere Reserve Network. Currently, we have already began to construct Yancheng Wetland Ecological National Park. The vast wetland and tidal land provide a good place for urban people keeping away from uproariousness and returning to nature. Yancheng is also a paradise for investors. Profiting from the policy of reform and opening-up to the outside world, this young city, which was founded to replace Yancheng Prefecture in 1983, is full of vitality. Through over 20-year’s development, Yancheng has already become an important regional and central city in the east coastal area of Jiangsu. At the end of ‘the Tenth Five-year’ project, the gross local products of our city reached a critical point of over RMB 10 billion, the urban built up an area of 75 square meters, with a population of 700, 000. The urban per capita disposable income reached over RMB 10,000. Yancheng provides many unique opportunities for investors from all over the world for good communications, rich land and human resources, huge market potentials, vast cooperation areas, and the rapid growing of the process of industrialization and urbanization. Among the period of ‘the Eleventh Five-year’ project, we will meet the challenges of investors and show the developing advantages of Yancheng by improving investment environment, perfecting infrastructure constructions such as highway, railway, port, airport, energy, telecommunications, water supply and heat supply continuously.
