On March 6, it was learnt from the YanchengMunicipal Office for Railway Planning and Construction that in the first twomonths of this year 242 million yuan has been invested in railway construction,of which 188 million yuan was invested in the Yancheng section ofYancheng-Xuzhou Railway and 54 million yuan invested the Yancheng section ofYancheng-Lianyungang Railway. The rail loading base for vehicles of DongfengYueda Kia has been put into operation，which laid a solid foundation for beatingthe railway construction goal for theyear.
As the main railway construction site ofJiangsu Province, Yancheng will speed up the construction of the main parts ofthe Yancheng-Lianyungang Railway and completes the groundwork of theYancheng-Xuzhou Railway in this year. It will also start the construction ofYancheng-Nantong Railway and accelerate the preliminary construction work ofother inter-city railways connecting the other main cities in Jiangsu Province.
