On September 11th, Yancheng convened a conference to explore ways to establish Yancheng as an agricultural powerhouse. Zhou Bin, Party Secretary of Yancheng Municipal Government, spoke about adhering to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s guidance on rural development and its importance in Jiangsu’s broader strategy. He underscored the city’s commitment to transforming Yancheng into a beacon of modern agriculture, with thriving rural landscapes and prosperous farmers. The aim is clear: make Yancheng a model city in Jiangsu’s push for agricultural excellence.

As a cornerstone of Jiangsu’s agricultural efforts, Yancheng holds a pivotal role. The city has always emphasized the rural development, championing both its heritage and its future. During the conference, an Action Plan for Agricultural Development was unveiled. From 2023 to 2025, it sets forth several initiatives, ensuring a stable supply of essential agricultural products being a paramount goal. The vision is a Yancheng defined by robust agricultural outputs, cutting-edge technologies, vibrant market dynamics, eco-friendliness, and a high quality of life for its residents.

Looking ahead, the city has set ambitious milestones: by 2030, it aims for its agriculture sector to be largely modernized and its rural areas to enjoy modern living standards. By 2035, it hopes to achieve agricultural advancements aligning seamlessly with industrial, digital, and urban progress, ensuring that Yancheng remains at the forefront of agricultural innovation and development.
