On December 26, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced the designation of nine tourist attractions in the province as national 4A-level tourist destinations, including the Huai Opera Town in Jianhu County, Yancheng.

Covering 23hectares, Huai Opera Town is set against the backdrop of the Jiulongkou National Wetland Park. Drawing inspiration from the award-winning Huai Opera performance Xiaozhen, the town celebrates Huai Opera and acrobatics, both of which are recognized as national-level intangible cultural heritages. Its development follows a philosophy of preserving local traditions while seamlessly integrating modern elements, creating a space that maintains its original charm. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities, including dining, lodging, transportation, shopping, and entertainment. In 2024, the town was included as a key cultural project in the province’s 14th Five-Year Plan and selected as one of Jiangsu’s first batch of Cultural-Tourism Integration Demonstration Zones.
