Recently, the Dafeng 800 MW offshore wind power project of China Three Gorges Corporations Jiangsu branch successfully commenced operation and was connected to the grid, featuring wind turbines with a unit capacity of 13.6 MW. These turbines are currently the largest-capacity offshore wind turbines in Jiangsu. With a hub height of 142 meters, a blade length of 123 meters per blade, and a rotor diameter of 252 meters, the turbines sweep an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, equivalent to the size of seven standard football fields. It is estimated that each full rotation of the turbine generates about 29 kWh of clean electricity. Annually, a single turbine can deliver over 46.5 million kWh of clean energy, sufficient to meet the yearly electricity consumption needs of approximately 23,000 three-person households. During the turbine installation process, the project team overcame multiple challenges, including difficult shallow-water construction, complex geological conditions, and disruptions caused by typhoons and severe convective weather. Through efficient coordination of key stages such as manufacturing, transportation, and construction, they achieved scientific planning and high-efficiency execution.
