On September 19, the “New Era, Discovering China, China-Africa Mutual Learning, Connecting the Future” 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges International Media Jiangsu Tour concluded in Yancheng. During the two-day visit in Yancheng, journalists from 21 countries—including South Africa’s Global South News Network, News Agency of Nigeria, Sierra Leone’s national television station, and Uganda’s New Vision—visited the city’s world natural heritage site in person and learned about Yancheng’s achievements in the marine economy, ecological conservation, and the digital industry.
During the tour, the foreign media delegation visited Jiangsu Fenghai New Energy Desalination Development Co., Ltd., observing first-hand the technology by which the company converts seawater into pure water through its microgrid system. The journalists also visited the Jiangsu Dafeng Milu National Nature Reserve, gaining in-depth insight into the ecological conservation of the Yellow Sea wetlands and the restoration of endangered species. At the Yangtze River Delta (Yancheng) Digital Audiovisual Industry Base, they experienced cutting-edge technologies including AI-powered short-video generation and 3D XR virtual filming.
Relying on its unique coastal resources and ecological strengths, Yancheng has perfected the “double-sided embroidery” of economic development and ecological protection. The delegation was deeply impressed by its solid wetland conservation efforts, robust momentum in the marine economy, and vibrant innovation in the digital industry. Journalists from multiple countries praised Yancheng’s achievements in green and low-carbon development, saying that the city’s mature experience in new-energy application, wildlife conservation, and digital platform construction is worthy of emulation. They expressed hopes for further deepening industrial rollout and scientific research cooperation with China in the future.
